In this engaging workshop, we embark on a creative journey with children exploring the fascinating realm of charcoal, unveiling its inherent coolness. Together, we venture into prehistoric times, discovering the earliest charcoal drawings in caves. We dissect charred planks to unveil the composition and various types of charcoal. Through simple assignments featuring geometric shapes, we delve into diverse drawing techniques, including the tactile experience of swiping with fingers.
As the workshop unfolds, each child undergoes a transformation into a budding artist. The session commences with a brief presentation, collaboratively seeking answers about the origin and varieties of charcoal, showcasing charcoal drawings by renowned artists, and more. The workshop places children at its core, encouraging them to express themselves. Following the introduction, active drawing ensues, with the class divided into small groups to foster inspiration and collaboration among the children.
